Ruba dub dub

The first baby bath I gave Little Pumpkin Doodle was  uneventful.  My husband didn’t want anything to do with it, and suddenly decided he needed to go to the store for diapers.  I think he thought Little Pumpkin Doodle was too fragile and was scared she would break. I  have to admit I was a little scared as well. What if I did it wrong? What if I dropped her? Well none of those things happened and I eventually became good at it.

For Little Pumpkin Doodle’s first bath I used a product that was given to me and figured since it said baby on it, it must be good.  Well, it’s just like food labels, you can’t always believe the packaging.  The product wasn’t organic and it  gave Little Pumpkin dry patches on her face and body. That coupled with her allergic reaction to non-organic socks made her a hot mess!  Once again, I took her to the doctor and he suggested I stop using the product on her face, body and hair and switch to Cetaphil.  It’s a great product and good for baby’s dry skin and eczema, but it’s not organic. However, the product has kept its word and has removed the dry patches. I’ve even used it for a while when I was out of my Philosophy cleanser to take off my make-up (Philosophy-also not organic-but it reminds me of a day spa). UPDATE: Find out what I use now for cleanser here.

I’m still using Cetaphil since I don’t want to waste it, but I’m currently in search of an organic product to use for her gentle skin.  I’ll keep you posted. UPDATE 5/3/2012 : We have switched to Dr. Bonner’s Baby Mild Soap-there’s no fragrance and it’s also great for people who have allergies or sensitive skin. All oils and essential oils are certified organic to the National Organic Standards Program.

Hi There-I just started a new Facebook page & Facebook needs me to have 25 fans before I can get a user name for my page.  If you like this article, I’d really appreciate you being one of the first 25 people to like my page.  It would really help me and it only takes a few seconds.  Here’s the link
