Is Organic skin care too greasy?

For the last few weeks I have been trying to run all my skin care products down, so I could try some new ones. Last night, I went to Sprouts and Frazier Farms (where we normally buy some of our groceries). Lucky for me, hubby was putting Little Pumpkin Doodle to bed which allowed me some uninterrupted time to really search for what I was looking for. I felt liberated! I had my new grocery tote that my dear friend Melinda recently gave me from Maptote (environmentally friendly reusable tote-I have the Paris tote), and off I went.

I was lucky when I arrived at Sprouts that the grocery rep wasn’t busy. There were so many vitamins and skin care products, that I was glad she had the time to help me. I told her I was looking for a facial moisturizer with SPF 15 for combination skin and didn’t want to spend more than $20 bucks. I also needed a hand &  body moisturizer that didn’t make my skin feel like  I’d basted myself with oil, and didn’t cost more than $15 bucks. Unfortunately, the moisturizer she suggested was not in stock, and some of the others I tried were too thick.

As for hand & body lotions she suggested a few that she personally used, so I decided on purchasing Avalon Organics-Grapefruit & Geranium. Before leaving the grocery store I tried Dr. Bonner’s Lavender & Coconut hand & body lotion, which was so greasy that I had to ask for a paper towel to clean my hands. I paid for my purchase and drove to my next stop, Frazier Farms in search of facial moisturizer.

At Frazier Farms my good luck struck again, I had the grocery rep all to myself, but this time it was a guy. No offense, but I didn’t think this guy knew much about women’s facial moisturizer, he looked like a vitamin supplement guy. I was on my own. I did my best to read all the ingredients on the packages. I came across Alba Botanica, the consistency of the moisturizer seemed right for my skin, had an SPF 15, and it was under $20 bucks. I haven’t used either product yet, and since I don’t get paid for any of this I’ll give you the good, the bad and the ugly. Stay tuned.

Wow good information. I’m waiting to hear your comment after using those 2 products you bought. By the way you made a comment a few weeks ago regarding CETAPHIL. I’ve been using it for long time its a good product I have dry skin and its not greasy. I use the MOISTURIZING CREAM I am very happy with it. Last week I found CETAPHIL UVA//UVB DEFENSE SPF 50 FACIAL MOISTURIZER FOR ALL SKIN TYPES ITS NOT GREASY. My children are adults and realize you don’t have to be a mom to read your blog. I love it . KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

    • Immacula- Thank you, I’m so happy you’ve subscribed and you find value in the information I’m giving. You’re right, you don’t have to have children to read Mommy’s Organics, so it’s great to hear that you’re taking what I’ve read and applying it to yourself. As for Cetaphil, I think it’s a good product, I just wish it was organic. I’ll be sure to tell you how the new natural and organic products I’ve purchased are working out. Thank you E. Palencsar
