Mommy’s Organics prouduct review of The Laundress

Dry cleaning is one of my least favorite things to pay for, not only do I know it’s bad for my clothing and the environment; it’s so darn expensive. Being that I work in a corporate environment I have a lot of clothing that is dry clean only. So after reading an article from Big Green Purse , I knew I had to find a dry cleaning alternative and ordered  The Laundress Delicate Wash soap.

The company set out to eliminate the need for expensive dry cleaning with toxic chemicals and the two Fiber Science, Textile & Apparel Cornell educated women created The Laundress.

I ordered it four months ago and have been very hesitant to try it. I really don’t have an excuse, except that since it’s been so hot, I’ve tried to only wear cotton.  [Read more…]

My Eco-Fairy

Little Pumpkin Doodle is what I like to call a girly girl with grit. She plays with her dump trucks while wearing her tutu. We spend a lot of time at our local tractor museum, and anytime we are in the car, she’s quick to point out different types of mechanical equipment. I’d like to fancy myself as a girly girl with grit, but I know my closest friends would just categorize me as a girly girl.

Is Real Purity Blush for real?

Indian Dust is on the far right.

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know I lost my makeup bag and I’m slowly making the switch to natural/organic beauty products. Seeing that I’ve been without blush for months and have been hesitant to replace it, I figured it was time. For some reason my cheeks are very sensitive to blush and assume it’s the chemicals in the product as well as the tools I’ve used to apply it. During my prime blush wearing days, I could never wear blush because the day after I wore it, I would get a rash on my cheek bones. I eventually discovered a blush that didn’t give the rash side effect, but wanted to find something more natural to go with my new-found natural/organic makeup journey.

And children under 2 years old appear to be at particular risk. [Read more…]

How to Read the New Sunscreen Labels

Since I live in southern California I wear sunscreen all year around. Even Little Pumpkin Doodle knows that when she plays at day care to ask for sunscreen before she heads outside. Since summer is around the corner, I thought it was time to purchase new sunblock.

10 Baby Products I Could Have Lived Without!

In my opinion, one of the best parts of being pregnant is nesting, for others it may be the baby shower. I’m not, and never have been a baby shower person. If truth be told, my husband had to convince me to show up to ours.

I once dragged my 3 year old niece with me to a shower. I was the only single one there, and I’d be damned if I was going to sit through the whole thing. I told the soon to be mom that my niece was tired, and needed her nap so I could get out of there.

Organically Oregon

imageHi There! I decided to do a post since I’ve been having problems with my phone. I flew into Portland two days ago and couldn’t get over the fact that it was so green. Once we left the airport the city looked like the opening credits of Portlandia. I had to play the Portlandia theme song as we headed down town.
