Mommy’s Organics prouduct review of The Laundress

Dry cleaning is one of my least favorite things to pay for, not only do I know it’s bad for my clothing and the environment; it’s so darn expensive. Being that I work in a corporate environment I have a lot of clothing that is dry clean only. So after reading an article from Big Green Purse , I knew I had to find a dry cleaning alternative and ordered  The Laundress Delicate Wash soap.

The company set out to eliminate the need for expensive dry cleaning with toxic chemicals and the two Fiber Science, Textile & Apparel Cornell educated women created The Laundress.

I ordered it four months ago and have been very hesitant to try it. I really don’t have an excuse, except that since it’s been so hot, I’ve tried to only wear cotton.  [Read more…]

Fashion “Friendly” Friday-How to Get More Use Out of Onesies

Happy Friday! For those of you who are reading this blog for the first time, Fashion “Friendly” Friday is where I show you how I’m turning my closet into an environmentally friendly wardrobe by learning to Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse.

This posting is a little different, let me explain. We’ve been pretty lazy about potty training Little Pumpkin Doodle, but after she had an accident on the sofa we decided to get it together.

We thought we were doing the right thing by asking LPD if she had to go potty and then encouraging her to use the potty by giving her praise. Even after all the praise, she continued to pee in her pull ups. It was no surprise when I picked her up from daycare last week that she was wearing a different outfit then what I put her in that morning. Fashion “Friendly” Friday-Happy Easter!

Happy Friday! This is such a big weekend. We have a lot of fun things planned for Little Pumpkin Doodle. She doesn’t quite understand Easter, but she’s enjoying all the gifts from her wonderful family. Nanna sent LPD a very large box filled with Easter goodies. I’m surprised she’s being so patient and waiting until Daddy gets home to open it. One adorable Easter gfit LPD received is a custom t-shirt from Tante Lisa, by Lima Bean Kids. Since LPD has a slightly unusual name, it’s difficult to find items with her name on it, so it was a nice surprise. [Read more…]

Fashion “Friendly” Friday

It’s Friday! This weekend we’re going to a birthday party, so yesterday Little Pumpkin Doodle and I went to Barnes & Noble to pick out a gift for my friend’s daughter, who will be turning 3.  As you know B&N is one of LPD’s favorite places, so once we arrived it was it was difficult to get her to leave. We managed to leave the store without a meltdown once hubby arrived. [Read more…]

Fashion “Friendly” Friday

This week I wanted to show you what Little Pumpkin Doodle’s Nanna sent her from a resale store in Vermont. As soon as we arrived home after daycare Little Pumpkin Doodle spotted the package. Any package left on the door step in LPD’s world belongs to her.
